MediConnect – Smart Hospital Management System

MediConnect is a Smart Hospital Management System designed to simplify and organize everyday hospital operations through a single web-based platform. It connects patients, doctors, hospital administrators, pharmacists, and laboratory staff, allowing each user to access the features and information relevant to their role.

Patients can create appointments with doctors, complete payments, view their medical records and prescriptions, book laboratory tests, order medicines, communicate with doctors, and receive important notifications. Doctors can manage appointments, maintain patient medical records, create prescriptions, view laboratory reports, and communicate with their patients.

Hospital administrators can manage hospital departments, doctors, patients, pharmacy operations, and laboratory activities while monitoring important hospital statistics through interactive dashboards. Pharmacists can manage medicines, inventory, and pharmacy orders, while laboratory staff can manage test bookings, process samples, and generate laboratory reports.

MediConnect also includes Razorpay Test Mode for demonstrating online payments, Gmail SMTP for email notifications, Django Channels for real-time doctor-patient communication, ReportLab for generating PDF documents, and Chart.js for visualizing hospital analytics.

The project demonstrates how different healthcare services can be connected into one secure system while using role-based access control to ensure that users can only access information and functionality they are authorized to use. It is built as a practical final-year project that demonstrates real-world concepts such as authentication, authorization, REST APIs, database management, payments, real-time communication, notifications, reporting, and data analytics.

1. Log in using the appropriate role such as Patient, Doctor, Hospital Admin, Pharmacist, or Lab Staff.
2. Patients can search for doctors and book appointments.
3. Complete appointment payments using Razorpay Test Mode.
4. Doctors can manage appointments and create medical records and prescriptions.
5. Patients can view prescriptions and download prescription PDFs.
6. Patients can book laboratory tests and track their test status.
7. Laboratory staff can process bookings and generate laboratory reports.
8. Patients can order prescribed medicines through the pharmacy.
9. Pharmacists can manage medicine inventory and process pharmacy orders.
10. Doctors and patients can communicate through real-time chat.
11. Users receive in-app and email notifications for important activities.
12. Hospital staff can monitor hospital operations through analytics dashboards.
